Peter Stanick 彼得‧史坦尼克
American 1953
Peter Stanick was born in Pittsburgh in 1953. He received a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 1975 and a MFA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1977. Already inspired during his art studies by Pop artists like Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann and Roy Lichtenstein, Stanick looked for the possibility to not only digitally edit or enhance existing images in color or form, but to create a visual language that was digital from the outset. The Wall Street Journal has called Stanick “one of America’s hottest contemporary painters”. Stanick has had numerous solo exhibits in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Stockholm, Cologne, Tokyo and Osaka, and some of his works have joined the collections of such prestigious museums as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.
