+ OVERVIEW
"The guardian beast carries a gentle energy. I believe that eyes are the channel for conveying energy between humans, animals, and guardian beasts. Eyes are a very important part of the human body, and people can communicate with each other through eye contact." - Miwa Komatsu
Miwa Komatsu, a Japanese emerging female artist, has been selected as "Prix Canson: World's Best 39 Finalist" in 2013. Her personal style combining nature and Shinto elements has been highly favored by Taiwanese collectors. Her works are permanently collected by the British Museum, making her the youngest living artist whose works are included in the museum's collection. The artwork "The Same Way, Jumping to the Future" showcases the artist's layering technique using acrylic paints to create flowing, totem-like lines that form the outline of a guardian beast. The bold and brilliant colors such as gold, black, red, purple, and green are combined to create a vivid and striking composition.
