Ian Macleod創立於1933年，自Russell家族於1963年接手後，便與J&G Grant於愛丁堡Broxburn成立了一間大型裝瓶廠，如今，Ian Macleod已成為全蘇格蘭數一數二的威士忌大廠，年產量超過1500萬瓶，且仍不斷進行原酒、橡木桶和威士忌酒廠的收購，The Chieftain's、Smokehead Islay Single Malt等皆為旗下知名的裝瓶廠系列。此款Glen Grant 1949屬於Extremely Rare系列，年份高且數量極為稀少。
